as promised earlier, i've examined it carefully at best resolution , and with a critical eye...
it's beautiful work, and i'm not going to troll it even jokingly by saying her armor isn't accurate or some such trash. ;D . it looks great all-around, and obviously was something you felt good about while doing it. deservedly so. the gradient on the fogging is consistent with natural haze effects , and well done, and the face is nicely expressive. this is a great example of your style, with the crossover of cartoony and physically well-proportioned designs. the smudging and 'dirt' is both artistically and believably done and placed; and the detail on the nails and general shadowing on the figure is also well done. the only suggestion i could add is that a shadowy object or two, such as a spear in the ground or tree , might make the background fog seem less 'wall-like' , and give a little more depth. on the other hand, if it's not subtly done, stuff like that can also draw away from the detail of the main subject.... and that would be a loss considering what you've done already!
if i'd ever figured out how to recommend a work for a DD , i'd probably submit this to 'the powers'. now i'll read what others wrote
you can, as i know from personal experience, also get TOO tied up in adding detail. it's a slippery slope.... i spent three days inking a pen and ink illo of a hardwood floor, drawing in the grain on pegging and boards , just to find that the original focus was lost in the detail, and the commissioner thought it was 'too busy' and 'unsuitable' for use as a fill-in page in a horror short he was doing. meh. have to admit it .... he was right. especially since it was a 6"x8" illo once i added a severed ox head [seriously ] and blood-pooling as requested , he was happy. ruined my floor. unless you're being paid to, change nothing for anyone unless you like the idea yourself.... <----please!
